The countryside around Ribe is widely known especially because of the waterfront which has great importance for the wildlife, and is one of Denmark's National Parks. Wadden Sea islands with Mandø, Rømø and Fanø provides plenty of opportunities for good and instructive experiences of nature at all levels. The flat marshland area is ideal for a nice bike ride and many attractions are located in bicycle distance from Ribe Camping. Around autumn, it is especially the phenomenon of "Black Sun" where large flocks of starlings dancing in the sky, are pulling people to Ribe.
